fuma-hk › MIRANEST › Angle › Alopecia X
Our biggest lane by far — and the one where we make the most of the format that works least. The human hair-loss category is years ahead of dog on this, and it has already solved the problem we have with before-and-afters.
Videos carry this angle: 51 of the 67 orders, at a better cost per order than the statics. But the striking number is the style split. Demo is 2 ads for 6 orders and Review is 11 ads for 12 — both far better per ad than anything else we run. B/A is 54 ads for 19 orders, and Story is 13 ads for 2.
We are pouring production into before-and-afters and into stories, and harvesting from demos and reviews. That is not an argument for killing B/A — it still produces — it is an argument that the next ten assets should not all be B/A. Every reference below is a way of showing a result that is not a split-screen.
The before-and-after is the most obvious format in this category and therefore the most crowded. These are the alternatives that are working elsewhere.
Not a photo of an endpoint — a state you decide to enter. Removes the need to prove a transformation.
Nutrafol’s pinned campaign: Be An After
.
A creator returning at month three, mid-journey, unpolished. Reads as true because it is not finished.
“Hair regrowth update” — the most repeated format in human hair.
Shedding stopping is easier to feel, and easier to believe, than regrowth.
Nutrafol and Vegamour both sell the end of shedding first.
A listicle from a vet beats a claim from a brand, and it survives being screenshotted.
“My Top 5 DOG hair regrowth supplements.”
The scoop, the pump, the chew. Demo is our single best-performing style and we have two of them.
Our own Demo ads: 2 assets, 6 orders.
Human hair loss first, because the craft is further ahead there, then the dog brands competing directly with us.
The category leader, and it has just spent a campaign arguing that the “after” photo is the wrong way to think about hair loss at all.
An ‘after’ doesn’t mean everything has already changed. They are deliberately dismantling the before-and-after while selling the same outcome.
my hair is growing like A WEED!!!! Not an ad.

“Let’s take a moment for Avery and her hair journey — this is your reminder that it doesn’t have to be complicated.”
Steal: the brand celebrating one customer by name. Warmer than a testimonial.

“When I started my hair growth journey, I was concerned about shedding. After 2 years with Nutrafol…”
Steal: the two-year testimonial. Long time horizons make the claim safer and more credible.

“My hair is growing back” — four words over a mirror shot.
Steal: the shortest possible version. No setup, no story.

“An ‘after’ doesn’t mean everything has already changed.”
Steal: permission to post a result that is still in progress.

“Your ‘after’ doesn’t start at the finish line.”
Steal: the campaign line. Reframes the entire category convention.

“When you’re serious about your hair goals…” — the serum, shot as an object.
Steal: product photography that still carries a sentence of positioning.
■ openSells the scalp, not the hair — and leans almost entirely on creators posting month-three updates on their own hairline.
Hair thinning and shedding can start at the scalp— they moved the problem upstream to somewhere you can act on.
Not sponsored! I’m so happy with my results!— again, the unpaid one travels furthest.
Hair thinning is real… but so are solutions— acknowledge the fear, then relieve it, in one line.

“…an update on my 3 months of using GRO hair serum on my thinning hairline!”
Steal: the three-month update with the timeframe in the hook.

“Not sponsored! I’m so happy with my results!” — tagged #beforeandafter.
Steal: a B/A that works because the person is plainly not being paid.

“Hair thinning is real… but so are solutions.”
Steal: fear named and answered inside one sentence.

itching and paw licking doesn’t have to be your dog’s norm— they attack the owner’s resignation.

National Dog Day — community posting, no claim.
Steal: note what is missing: no ingredient, no mechanism, no condition. Same static gap as the rest of dog.
■ openSix builds, all aimed at the same thing: a result that is not a split-screen. B/A stays in the mix, it just should not be the next ten assets.
Keep the promise, drop the split-screen. An “after” the owner decides to start, not a photo they have to believe.
from Nutrafol’s pinned campaignDemo is 2 ads and 6 orders — the best ratio we have. We have made two. Make ten.
from our own numbersAn owner returning mid-journey, unpolished. Reads true precisely because it is not finished.
from Nutrafol · VegamourThe vet listicle owners already search for. We have never made one, and it survives screenshotting.
from @dr_lindsaybutzerCoat regrowth is slow; shedding stopping is fast. Lead with the change the owner can see in week two.
from Nutrafol · VegamourScratching reads in a thumbnail; thin fur does not. Recognition in frame one, product later.
from Wuffes’ creator setB/A is not broken, it is over-supplied. 54 assets for 19 orders still means 19 orders. The argument on this page is about what to make next, not about switching anything off — that is handled automatically by the CPO rule anyway.
The Pomeranian creators are real owners with real dogs. Their content is a study reference, not a source of assets. Nothing from those accounts should end up in an ad without written permission — we have already had one owner withdraw consent.
